- We provide standard and advanced walk-through evaluations and full
assessments of your Reliability and Maintenance programs to ensure that you
are performing at optimum. A basic walk-through can be as simple as a
1-day visit to a facility to our advanced 3-5 day walkthroughs. Our
full assessments begin following a standard assessment in order to determine
the level of opportunity at your site.

- As part of our assessment services, we provide services to identify and
document best practices within your facility and introduce best practices
from within your industry or that are cross-cutting across multiple
industries. We also provide benchmarking and recommendations

- General Motors World-Wide Facilities Group
- SBD provides specialized services to GM-WFG's Joint Task Team for
Maintenance and Construction. We work jointly with UAW-GM and GM
management to develop best practices that affect all General Motors'
facilities world-wide with a scope that includes the building envelope to
concrete, powerplant up to the production equipment. With SBD
engineers working with UAW and GM corporate approximately one to two weeks
per month, in the first four months of service, over $40 Million in savings
were identified with low investment and simple payback of less than 18
months (many were immediate). At one site, over $500,000 of immediate
savings were identified with no investment required.
- Rohm & Haas - Morton Salt
- Three day evaluation of a 100 year old Morton Salt facility to improve
average motor life from 5-7 years to 20 plus years. The evaluation was
able to determine that most of the components of the program were in place,
and we were able to identify immediate and long-term improvements that
required no capital investment. Simple paybacks on recommendations
were an average of less than one week and all recommendations (21 points)
are being implemented with the backing of Morton Salt corporate.
